Journey to "I Woke Up Like This" Type of Skin

Hi there! This post features the latest products that I have been using to clear up my skin. I have struggled with acne-prone skin since the age of 12. Even in my adult life, I have undergone breakout spurts from time to time. It could be the weather, it could be hormones, it could be stress, who knows with all I go through! However, it has never reached a point in which I needed to seek medical advice from a dermatologist. Almost always, it will clear up on it's own with a little help by me and obviously some products! I want to share with you my current skincare routine and what I have been using daily to minimize these pimples! In no way should you be persuaded to purchase these products or follow this routine, these opinions are my own.

➵ I prep my face by taking a morning shower (HOT!) and allow the steam to open my pores.
➵ Normally, I brush my teeth after a shower so before touching my face, I make sure to wash my hands!
➵ I then apply a pump of my Clinique Liquid Facial Soap to my Clinique Sonic Brush and scrub away all that dirt. What I love about this brush is that it doesn't hold germs being that it's antimicrobial and it really gets deep down to work the product into your pores.
➵ The brush has a 30 second timer. I spend 30 seconds each on my right cheek, left cheek, chin/neck, nose and forehead. Thats 2 minutes and 30 seconds until done!
➵ I pat my face dry with a hand towel before applying my Clinique Clarifying Lotion by cotton pad. A few pumps of this toner and your face will feel squeaky clean.
➵ To finish, I apply 1-2 pumps of the best moisturizer ever, Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel. I love how covering this moisturizer is with just one or two pumps. I work it into my skin by massaging it into my face and neck. It's very light weight, yet very moisturizing.
➵ I usually don't wear makeup on a normal day, so an application of sunscreen is all I need before hitting the door.

➵ You know I love my steaming, hot showers. So to prep my face for bed, I take a shower to open those pores! Don''t forget to wash those hands.
➵ I then apply my Olay Fresh Effects Acne Hater Deep Scrub to my Clinique Sonic Brush. Not very much is needed, it will lather tremendously.
➵ After my 2 1/2 minute scrub, I rinse my face and pat dry.
➵ I apply a generous amount of witch hazel to a cotton pad and rub it across my entire face.
➵ I apply small dots of my Olay Fresh Effects Spot Zinger onto any raised pimples I see.
➵ I gently massage the cream into my skin and allow it to dry before applying my Olay Fresh Effects Swirled Mattifier.
➵ I nearly always feel the need to apply my Mederma gel to any visible scarring or major dark spots.
All done!
I also have products not mentioned that I use from time to time in my regimen. I have been obsessed with this Biore Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser for at least 2 years now. I even put my BFF on to it, we love it! It does wonders for blackheads!!! It sucks all of the dirt out of your face like a vacuum cleaner. If I feel it's needed, I will sometimes use it instead of my Olay Fresh Effects Acne Hater Scrub. ♡
Every now and then, who are we kidding, EVERY SINGLE DAY, I wake up with the Puff Daddy eyes. I apply an anti-puff serum by Garnier Fructis. I don't seem to notice a difference but the ball feels very cool and soothing under my eyes.
A staple face product you need in your skincare routine is some type of mask. For those days when you want to get your facial on at home and you just aren't feeling your skin... Throw a mask on it! I purchased four masks by Freeman from Ulta. I have the Charcoal and Black Sugar Polishing Mask, Anti Stress Mask with Dead Sea Minerals, Mint & Lemon Clay Mask and Banana-Oat Instant Smoothing Mask. My favorite by far is the Charcoal and Black Sugar Scrub Polishing Mask. If it has charcoal in it, I am definitely a lover. These masks aren't superheroes, they don't do anything whimsical for my face. However, at just $4.44 a bottle plus using my $3.50 off ouf $15 coupon, I think it's deemed a steal. They all leave your face feeling clean and smooth.
