Go Nooga

Hey y'all! So spontaneously, I opted that Brandon & I take a day trip to Chattanooga, TN. About 90 miles away from Atlanta and a site to see for sure! We had a good day and I was able to capture some of our sites on camera. Here's a suggested itinerary for a quick getaway!

8:30 - We left home, made a quick stop by Starbucks, filled up with gas and hit the highway!

10:30 - It took us about an hour & a half to reach our first stop:

Trails End Ranch in Chickamauga, GA (*Loved the whole team, great people, great horses, affordable prices! Highly recommended!)

We went on an amazing 1 hour ride along the Chickamauga Creek. It was so sereen and peaceful! Monica lead us in the front on her horse, Bam Bam, I was second on my horse, Helena, Brandon was third on his horse, Socks and Tory took up the rear on her horse, Cherokee. The girls were super delightful and dropped some horse knowledge on us along the trail. It was our first time riding and by the time we made it back to the barn, we were both inquiring about purchasing our own. *Que the giggles* That's so us! They allowed us to feed the horses peppermint snacks and we met a few other of their total 75 horses!

12:00 - Around noon, we headed 20 miles to Downtown Chattanooga, TN. I absolutely love the vibe of Nooga's downtown, there are so many places to eat, beautiful sit down areas and a public library! We are somewhat picky eaters these days with our Pescatarian lifestyle but we spotted The Pickel Barrel & were drawn to its unique look! I kind of felt like I was in Diagon Alley (Shoutout to my Potterheads).

We took the firehouse stairs up to the rooftop bar area. The vibe of this place was rustic, lively and oh so cool! SN: This is a spot for those 21 & older only. We ordered beers and a tatertot nacho appetizer. So delish! They had a few Vegeterian options. Brandon ordered a Black Bean Sandwich and I had a House Salad with Greek Feta Vinaigrette dressing.

1:00 - We headed back to our car. Btw, parking in Chattanooga is quite affordable compared to Atlanta. We saw this amazing espresso shop and some awesome art. Had to snap pictures of course!

Free chicken: In case you're wondering where I got my gear from! Sunnies (Quay), Top (Target), Bralette (Victoria Secret), Jeans (Fashion Nova), Headband (J Crew), Watch (Fossil), Earrings (Forever 21), Purse (Michael Kors) and Shoes (New Balance).

1:30 - We head towards Lookout Mountain. There are so many beautiful houses and shops along the mountain. Could I please move there? We found a parking spot at Rock City. We headed to Point Park which is a awesome outdoor museum displaying the point at which the Battle Above the Clouds was fought. Military entry was free of charge, $5 for everyone else. Brandon being a History Teacher and natural History enthusiast loved this park! We spent some time walking along the trail, taking photos and reading about battles that took place on that very mountain.

3:00- We decided to get something to drink and take the Incline Railway roundtrip. It's this massive train that goes directly down the side of Lookout Mountain. For a round trip, $15 per person. It was a very "tourist-y" thing to do. It wasn't thrilling or anything of that sort but it was a neat experience.

4:00 - The ride is about 10 minutes down and 10 minutes back up but we had to wait in line both ways. Sit in the very front if you can, you'll have a great view! We headed home after this, the total ride home took us around 1 hour and 39 minutes. Very smooth ride home.

There were a few things we didn't do that you should look into:

- Ruby Falls

- Mojo Burrito

- Rita's Ice Cream

- Coolidge Park

- High Point

I hope you enjoyed the pictures! I feel like every one of you were right there with us. Until next time...

Sincerely,

J. Black
